Susan Sanchez D.V.M.
Veterinarian
I went to Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on St. Kitts and finished my clinical training at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (go Vols!).
I was born and raised in Santa Monica/Culver City and grew up with an array of pets – birds, fish, and dogs. At the young age of six, my budgie (parakeet) developed a “bump” under its wing, and my mom and I took it to our local vet for examination. I was in awe during the entire examination process – that’s when I knew I wanted to help animals.
As I got older, I volunteered for local animal hospitals helping techs give medications, taking animals for walks, prepping fecal samples to be analyzed with the microscope, etc. During undergrad, I worked in a research lab focusing on plant enzymes, and obtained a degree in biology. After I graduated, I worked as a receptionist at an animal hospital in Santa Monica that treated a variety of animals – cats, dogs, birds, small mammals, and reptiles.
A few things I enjoy are reading, cooking/baking, spending time with family and friends, traveling/new adventures, yoga practice, running…and the list goes on and on!
